COURAGEOUS TO TURN BACK

COURAGEOUS TO TURN BACK

by Tricia Low, Acts Cheras

There was a time in my life when everything was smooth and good. There were no challenges, no tough times and nothing to ‘ask’ God for.

Slowly, I reduced my time with God. My one-hour devotion became 30 minutes, then 10 minutes, then none. I didn’t see the need for praying nor reading the Word because life was good. But deep down, I knew I was wrong.

I even thought of leaving church as life would be carefree with no responsibilities. So one Sunday, I went to church ready to inform my leaders that I was going to quit serving.

But a line in the sermon that morning said, “God hears you.” My spirit was stirred that moment and I teared. I knew that God was speaking to me.

You see, I felt like I had fallen off a cliff but God had grabbed me just in time. I’m telling God to let go, but He wouldn’t.

All you need is 1% strength to move upward, and I’ll be the 99% to pull you back up.

He says, “All you need is 1% strength to move upward, and I’ll be the 99% to pull you back up. Remember your fire. Remember your purpose. Remember you are meant to shine and not fall into darkness.”

God’s love was so strong that it overpowered all guilt and earthly pleasures I had been experiencing. That day, I asked for His forgiveness and committed my rebellious act to Him.

Now, I still ask Him what I have done to deserve His love, grace and mercy. Again and again, His reply is, “Because you are Mine and I love you.”

God’s love gives me great courage because He is always faithful.

God’s love gives me great courage because He is always faithful. They say it is tough to pray and trust during tough times, but I think it is tougher to pray and trust when everything goes well.
