COURAGEOUS TO DREAM

COURAGEOUS TO DREAM

by Juliana Jong, Acts PJ

Growing up I never knew that I loved singing because I had stage fright and never liked to perform.

Growing up I never knew that I loved singing because I had stage fright and never liked to perform. But when I signed up for a singing competition at university, I discovered my “hidden talent.”

Despite not being able to attend many rehearsals, on the actual competition day I told God I would enjoy and cherish the moment even though I was surrounded by so many great singers.

Till this day, every time I go on stage, I use it to glorify God with the talents that He gave me.

That year, I won first and became the SEGi Idol 2015 winner! I knew it had to be God, and through that experience, I learned to overcome stage fright and the fear of letting other people’s judgement affect me. Till this day, every time I go on stage, I use it to glorify God with the talents that He gave me. For me, being courageous means taking that first step of faith and putting aside my fears so that I can boldly achieve my dreams. It’s learning to be brave again and again.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)
