COURAGEOUS TO SURRENDER

by Judy Tan, Acts PJ

In 2017, I had a small growth in my neck and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder that affected the thyroid gland.

I was put on a diet and medication, but still the growth increased until it covered half my neck. It began to cause breathing difficulty. I was afraid and worried, but knew I would be able to overcome with God’s strength.

One of my friends suggested an endocrinologist who recommended an operation to remove the growth and test if it was cancerous. When I heard the news, there was an underlying fear that it would be cancer.

When I heard the news, there was an underlying fear that it would be cancer.

To undergo the surgery, I had to trust that God would be there for me. Scary as it was, I chose to surrender to Him throughout it all. Thank God, it was not cancerous. It has been removed for two years now and I am no longer on medication. While I still need to manage my diet and health, I can trust that God is with me through this entire process.

I chose to surrender to Him throughout it all.
